Honda sl70 k0

Make Honda. I found this bike stashed away in an old barn way out in middle of nowhere California. This bike has been sitting idle for a very very long time. I think the license plate says it was last registered in the late 70's.

I could just have a few years of use on it. I don't know the exact mileage on it because the early SL70's, like this bike, did not have speedometers on them, they were an option or an accessory that you could of put on the bike. The only things I have replaced were the grips, but they are OEM Honda and match the original style perfectly. And I replaced the cables but they too match the originals.

The bike is such a cool motorcycle that you just don't see in this condition. They are only original once and that is what makes this bike so neat. SL70 Hondas are pretty scarce and don't not come up for sale often like the Trail 70's and 90's do. This is actually one of my favorite bikes of my collection because you just don't see them. I like the unique and different Hondas that were produced back then!

The paint is all original and untouched on the bike. The tank is in great shape with just a little fading on it from time sitting. The original warning decal is still present on the tank. The fenders, both front and back are in great shape.

The paint is pretty nice on the two and show just a little wear.

What to do? 1971 Honda SL70 K0

The front fender has a little chip on the edge of it, on the front. The frame is original paint and has just the normal wear from your foot on it and some chips and scratches underneath it.

The side covers are original and have original red paint on them, they do have some fading on them from sun exposure. The chrome is all original on the bike and has some pitting and patina on it from sitting with dust on it for such a long time. The tires are both original to the bike but are cracked all over them. The exhaust is in pretty nice shape with just a couple little dings in it and a little pin hole under it that you can't even see from the side.

The bike has the same engine as the four speed clutch Trail 70's. The clutch works great and works as it should. The engine runs great and doesn't make any funny noises or smoke.Skip to main content. Sorry I sold it!

Name Eric. Andy - where did you see that! Holy smokes - it's sweet! That was my dream pit bike in the 70s. Name Kevin. Sorry for butting in on Kev's ID By the time I had saved enough for my own bike, which took several years, I was too big for the lusted-after SL70 like the one above. I bought a brand-new, one model year old '72 G5 I noticed the link to the website you put up and saw they have a near mint same year G Four years ago I bought a complete '72 and it's now in about pieces, but the frame and various bits are back from powder coating, chroming, and the bodywork is repainted It will be my first frame-up full resto.

Post a link to the G5 pic - I cannot figure out which one you're talking about. I love that green SL But most of all I love the red SL - I have dreamed of just seeing one of those in real life. I totally lusted for them when I was a kid. They had a gold one at the Capitola Honda shop back around or so, but the red ones rule. Back To Auction. Next Lot. Description This lot is no longer available. Although Mini Bikes had been around for years by the time Honda was introduced the SL70 inthis was the first of the type to resemble a real motorcycle, with a proper tube frame and four-speed gearbox. As a result, the SL70 became incredibly popular and numerous variations were built before the model was redesignated the XL75 in The SL70 was fitted with a 72cc OHC single-cylinder engine with a four-speed manual gearbox and the speedo was optional.

With amazing off road abilities, the SL70 Honda was the ideal way to teach young kids motorcycling skills and many dirt riders started off on one of these amazing machines.

Given the hard lives most Honda mini bikes suffered through, it's hardly surprising that few survive today and good examples have already become highly sought after by collectors.

Okay so I have this little SL70 sitting in the barn just waiting for something to happen to it. I am totally torn between restoring it to stock and having it to putz with and teach young ones how to ride on, or I want to do something fun like a mini tracker or something with it.

Here is a photo of a stock looking one I do not have any actual photos. I hate him. I think a full on mini cafe would be sick. Clip ons, rearsets, bump seat the whole 9 yards.

SL70 / XL70

That would look sick! It could still be a "trainer" bike of sorts too. Just a badass looking trainer bike! RealSaltBlake Active Member. I have a perfect small cafe seat for that bike. What kind?
